Yoga includes mental and physical health as well as, for some, spiritual aspects of their lives. Yoga is an ancient form of exercise wherein participants use certain postures in combination with dedicated breathing techniques to improve physical and emotional health.
Research has demonstrated that yoga can help control anxiety, reduce asthma, alleviate arthritis symptoms, lower blood pressure, eliminate back pain, and benefit patients suffering from multiple sclerosis, chronic fatigue, epilepsy, diabetes, headaches, stress and much more. You have to be dedicated and follow the practices on a regular basis if you really want to get results. Yoga begins and ends with the mind, if you can convince yourself you really want to do it, then you should be able to keep the spirit.
If you consider physical activities such as steadying the heart rate, stabilize the nervous system, increase joint flexibility, all of these activities allow us to mentally transform ourselves. Teachers must know how to build, and modify, a pose for a less flexible or beginner student. I strongly recommend you consult with your yoga teacher who could give you specific direction.
It helps strengthen and tone them and also builds endurance and stamina. Although, with yoga you don't have to wait for that many years to change yourself because the regular and systematic practice of yoga postures and basic meditation can help you to make great changes within the shortest possible period. Vinyasa classes can be either, high or low intensity, depending upon the yoga instructor's emphasis.
Find a little time to dedicate to it every day and you will begin to feel more calm, certain and relaxed than you thought possible. Yoga can indeed be food for the mind.
